Dating and Coincidences

It’s Monday morning again. And it’s snowing. Too bad I still have to go to class in an hour. I really wish we had a snow day. I could use the free to time to catch up on laundry, finish a paper that’s due Wednesday and get some extra sleep. Oh that’s sounds wonderful.

Okay, enough of that. It’s time for a dating update.

Saturday night I got a text from D. I hadn’t heard from him since Valentine’s Day so I was kinda surprised. He asked if I had any plans that evening. I told him I wasn’t sure yet, because I really wasn’t. I had the option of going to a friend’s b-day party but it was way downtown and I didn’t really feel like traveling that far. So D and I made plans to meet up for drinks.

After our first drink we decided to go meet up with some of his friends in Times Square. Now, if you’ve ever been to New York City you know that no one goes to Times Square unless they are a tourist. It was insane. We ended up hanging out at the ESPN Zone which is a sports-themed restaurant downstairs with arcade style games upstairs. We spent hours playing air hockey, basketball, and race car driving. We also took shots of SoCo and lime. Good times.

From there we decided to go another bar. D’s friends led the way which was a bad idea. We ended up walking 8 blocks north and 6 avenues over. I was wearing heels. Not fun.

So we hung out at a bar on 50th and 2nd (important detail!) for a few hours and it was fun, but by the end of the night D was really drunk. My roommate showed up and we decided to take a cab home together. D jumps in the cab with us and stars blabbering on about who knows what. It was so annoying. I guess he realized it though because I got a text from him the next morning for apologizing for being an ass in the cab, haha. I don’t think I want to see him again. He just seems a little too immature for me.

Next.

OkCupid guy. We’ll call him B. We had the phone call on Thursday night and we know how that went. He emailed me Friday afternoon. I wrote him back that evening. Then I didn’t hear from him all weekend, but I could see he was online and looking at my profile. Finally, last night I got tired of waiting so I emailed him saying “Hi, this is me emailing you”. Yes, stating the obvious. He got the point though because he emailed me back within the hour apologizing for his ‘disappearance’ and he said he would email me on my gmail account in a bit. He told me about his weekend and how busy he was going out with friends. He asked if I liked margaritas because Saturday night he and some friends went out to a great bar that serves them… on 50th and 2nd.

WHAT?

I immediately wrote him back asking which bar he was at. Apparently we were at bars right next door to each other. How’s that for coincidence? He wrote back, “I wish we had bumped into each other, that would have been an awesome story to tell our friends”.

So that’s exciting.

I’m going to write him back later today and hopefully we can set up a time to meet or at least talk on the phone again. This is looking good people. Looking good.
