I flew out of NYC on Saturday, March 14th and arrived in Las Vegas around 9pm. I met my two best friends from Texas at the airport and we shared a cab to our hotel:
We quickly checked into our room and then wandered around looking for something to eat. We found a pizzeria downstairs where we ordered a large pizza and proceeded to eat the entire thing. We were starving.
After we ate we gambled for a bit and then went to bed. Sunday, we woke up, ate breakfast at a cute bagel shop on the Promenade level of the hotel and then walked to CVS to buy some “snacks”. We bought poptarts, trail mix, pretzels, vodka, cranapple juice, Clamato, asprin, and sunglasses. That afternoon we wandered up and down the strip admiring the beautiful hotels and casinos.
We ate lunch at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville at the Flamingo hotel. If you’re ever there, order the Malibu Bay Breeze and Volcano nachos. You won’t regret it.
That night we ate dinner at Sushi Samba at the Palazzo and went dancing at Lavo. It was fun, but not the best night of the trip.
Monday morning we laid out by the pool. It was a sunny 80 degrees and absolutely perfect.
We gambled for a bit before lunch and that’s when I won my $60 on the penny slots. I know, I’m amazing! We ate lunch at The Garden Grill at Circus Circus where they had half price pitchers of margaritas. Yes, we knew our priorities.
We spent the rest of the day walking up and down the strip. We saw Caesar’s Palace, The Venetian, The Bellagio, and The Wynn.
We ate dinner at Marrakech which is a small Moroccan restaurant off the strip. It’s a set menu of 6 courses and it’s $50 per person, but it was so worth it. The food was unbelievable and there is belly dancing every hour!
Tuesday we slept in. Once we were all finally awake we ate lunch at the buffet at The Bellagio. Shrimp, omelettes, pizza, pasta, sushi, mahi mahi, huge strawberries, bread, and desserts galore. Best friend and I shared a total of seven (7) desserts.
We walked around the strip and gambled all afternoon.
For dinner we had reservations at Sushi Samba. We ate there Sunday night as well, but we met the owner randomly one day and she asked us to come again and she would “make it worth it”. We got free drinks and free desserts, so yeah, I’d say it was worth it.
We went out to Blush at the Wynn that night, but it really wasn’t fun. There was a huge line and it took forever to get in (even though we were on the guest list. We were told all drinks were free until 12:30, but when we tried to order the bartender said it was only Jameson that was free. the people were way too pretentious and no one was dancing. Boring. We left after we finished our drinks and went back to our hotel. Best friend and I decided to stay up late and gamble the last of our money since it was our last night. We sat at the blackjack tables until 4am but we each managed to win over $100. Success!
Overall it was an amazing trip. I had such a good time with friends and it really made me wish I lived closer to them. The food was amazing, the hotels were beautiful and the weather was perfect. I hated to come back to New York and the real world, but I guess that’s a sign of a great vacation.
